Revealing the Gender!

So, today we had our "gender ultrasound" and were amazed at how big he/she has grown! No wonder I'm so tired all the time. My body's been workin' like crazy to keep up with the little critter. Anyway, we wanted to surprise our family so we had the Boles fam over and the Whitney fam on skype. We brought in a bunch of dark balloons filled with blue/pink streamers to reveal the gender all at once! Everyone was really excited!

Getting ready to pop the balloons and reveal the gender!

Blue = Boy

Pretty much everyone thought it was a boy from the day I announced our pregnancy, but it was still a fun gesture. :)
Our little guy at 16 weeks

So, we're having a baby BOY and I couldn't be happier!!!! There's nothing I want more than a "mini Austin" running around our home. And if he looks even a smidgen like Austin when Aust was a baby, we'll be dang lucky parents! Can't wait!

Curing the "Winter Blues"

It is so nice to get out of town and spend a few hours hiking around the snowy, breath-taking and practically deserted mountain sides. No cars, no annoying people, no smog... etc. We love the outdoors and would go crazy cooped up in our apartment all winter long. So, thanks to our snowshoes and an empty Saturday, we had an amazing time. Juneau did great! We've only had her for 2 months and we've already taken her winter camping, on a few strenuous hikes, snowshoeing and swimming (well, we didn't swim. Austin just threw her in the river to see if she knew how.She did. haha). She is super athletic and we figure the more we expose her to now the more fun she'll be when we wanna do intense stuff later like weekend backpacking trips and such (after the baby is born of course). :)

Juneau is 3 months old now.
She loves to follow trails using her  hound dog nose

She started to get really cold so we had to turn back after a few miles. (She has snow on her nose in this picture. haha)

The Little Critter: 12 weeks

So far, so good! The baby seems to be as healthy as can be. The baby has grown SO MUCH, which completely explains all my growing pains and stomach aches. :) In this picture you can see the baby is face planted. On the left the little legs are curled up. By next appointment we should be able to know the baby's gender. :) :) :) I can't wait!!!

2012!!!!

With a new year here I can't help but think about how fast time has flown.  In just the last 5 years I feel like my life has transformed immensely. 5 years is NOT a long time. This makes me wonder how much life is going to change in these next 5 years!

The last 5 years:

2007- Graduated from High School, moved to Utah, started school at BYU.
2008- Probably my most fun and crazy year at BYU, AND I met Austin. :)
2009- Spent 6 months in China, began the Media Music program at BYU, married Austin!
2010- Lost my brother, David, in a tragic plane accident.
2011- Spent 4 months in Tanzania with Austin, finished classes at BYU, released my first album as "Milla", got our puppy, Juneau.

If you think that is a lot of changes...

2012- Interning in a recording studio in Salt Lake City, graduating in April, moving twice to completely different states, having a baby, and Austin begins his PH.d program.

To sum things up, life is CRAZY and it's only going to get crazier this coming year. But, Austin and I couldn't be happier and our puppy is doing great! And although we don't get much sleep and she needs a lot of attention and exercise, she is super good prep for the baby. :)
