Prep for the Little Guy

I know it's a bit early, but when I saw this cradle for so cheap on ksl I couldn't pass it up! Isn't this the most adorable thing? I wanted a rocking cradle instead of a bassinet because they are just so simple and classic. Now it's just 4-ish more months until I can lay our little guy down in this. :)

Oh, and as I was posting this I couldn't help but realize how weird my choice of snacks were. I was craving so many different things and couldn't decide. So, I ate them all: chocolate pudding, a pickle, a slice of banana bread and a few strawberries. I also wanted cold cereal and gold fish but there are limits, ya know? Enough is enough. :)

The Pupster

Our puppy is 4 months old and I can't even believe it. Just to celebrate this and to show you all how much she's grown I thought I'd give you a "before" and "after".

Here she  is at about 2 months, still chubby and wrinkly.

And here she is at 4 months, much taller, thinner and more athletic.

This is her favorite laying position. Weird, huh? She usually stretches like this after a nap and then just stays in this position for a while. It's so funny!

So Happy Together

As cheesy and typical as this may sound, Austin and I don't need Valentines Day. I've never loved the holiday nor have I hated it. It's just one of those days that I think, "what could I do for Aust that we don't already do for eachother?".  Every day of the year is a chance to show love. Every day of the year should be special and meaningful (ok, maybe not every day is like that since no one is perfect). But, you get the idea.

So, for me, Valentines Day is a day for me to make delicious treats, call my family members to say "I love you" to each of them, and watch a chick flick with Austin (which he won't normally do except for this day of the year. haha).

This year I did just that. My sister-in-law, Angie, came over and we made red velvet whoopie cookies in the shapes of hearts, Austin bought me a beautiful flower and surprised me at work with it and some chocolates, and then he made me favorite Thai dish, Massaman Curry and we finished the night off with my favorite chick flick "Return to Me". It was a pretty great day. :)

The Halfway Mark!!! 20 weeks...

I'm HALFWAY there!  This morning I looked at myself in the mirror and thought "Oh my goodness! I'm really pregnant!!!" It's not that I didn't realize this fact until today. It's just that I'm finally starting to have a "pregnant looking" tummy instead of an "Oh, sweetie! You need to stop drinking beer and start doing sit-ups" tummy. It's a nice change. :)

I went in for my 20 week ultra-sound today, but the little guy (like my last few visits) was curled up in little ball. He was even face-planted so the technician could only get some of the measurements she needed. She told me to come back after eating a candy bar or drinking a caffeinated soda so she can get his face and heart measurements. I hope this means he's gonna be a cuddler. I would love that!

We Have Cool Friends...

Austin and I were lucky enough to be invited up to our friends' (Stephen and April Phillips Family) cabin near Evanston, Wyoming. We imagined a tiny, little cabin and were shocked to arrive at a gorgeous, 3-story log home located right next to a river. We spent Friday to Sunday snowshoeing, snowmobiling, playing games, eating Pho and other delicious foods, relaxing, etc. It was WONDERFUL! Thanks, Stephen and April, for being so cool and inviting us!

The gorgeous cabin

The roads were all closed so we had to snowmobile to the cabin with a sled full of our stuff.
Juneau and their dog, Bracken, kept each other pretty busy. They had a blast playing together the whole time!

Stephen Jr. and Joe are my buddies!

We celebrated Stephen Jr.'s birthday with his favorite meal, Pho, and his favorite cake, coffee cake. What a cool kid, huh?

17 weeks and counting....

Our little guy is only about 10 oz., but I guess he must need a lot of space to move around. :) Most people still can't really tell I'm pregnant. But, there's definitely a little "baby bump" and I thought I'd start documenting my growth every few weeks.
